COMMUNITY

UNPRECEDENTED TIMES REQUIRE
ETRAORDINARY EFFORTS

We opened our Miami facility during one of the most challenging times in modern history. Our excitement for the moment was mixed with concerns about the harsh realities of our country's economic reality. We decided to stop production and utilize resources to buy all the rice, beans, and lentils we could get our hands on to help those who had been impacted by the economic repercussions of COVID-19.

GLOBAL PRESENCE
LOCAL IMPACT

We recognize that we have an impact on communities across the globe. In some, we have deep roots. In some we are welcome visitors. Wherever we're working and interacting, we do everything possible to be a positive force. From helping to fix a school in Nicaragua to donating food to food banks in the United States, Mayorga thinks locally and operates as a good neighbor.

COMMUNITIES
AS DIVERSE AS US

Our company is made up of members of diverse backgrounds and communities. We work with our staff to identify community needs and to identify opportunities for us to leverage our skills and resources to support those needs. This can range from school fund raisers, religious groups, youth sports, food banks, supporting healthcare workers, and much more.

HELPING TO REBUILD IN NICARAGUA
NICARAGUA RELIEF EFFORTS

The impacts of the excessive rains from hurricanes Eta and Iota throughout Central America have shown us how vulnerable coffee communities are to the impacts of climate change.

During the initial impact of the floods, we donated food, water and other necessities to over 700 families in Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Our focus was to support those in the communities where we work--which also happen to be the more remote and generally overlooked areas.

From November 7th - December 31st, 2020 we were able to raise over $145,000. Thanks to the donations and money raised we are now currently working in building 10 homes in Nicaragua.

Our team in Nicaragua is currently working with the local community to build these homes to help restore some normalcy back to people who have lost everything.

Mayorga donates 20,000 lbs of organic fertilizer
MAKING AN IMPACT FOR COFFEE PRODUCERS

Being in constant communication with our producers allows us to show support in different ways.

After learning their struggles with the increase in prices, we donated about 20,000 lbs of organic fertilizer to our producers and neighboring producers in Guatemala.

BRIGHTER FUTURES THROUGH COFFEE
HUMPHREYS STREET

When we visited beautiful Nashville, TN for a coffee competition in 2019, we met the incredible people from Humphreys Street Coffee, a social enterprise that creates jobs, provides mentorships, and gives job skills to neighborhood youth via a coffee roasting and retail business. We realized we had to support such a beautiful program, so we offered to donate green coffee to them and to support their staff with skills development.  We're very proud of this partnership for a better future through coffee.
